Where we can help
The directions we are set up for.
This is not a claim that every case in these categories is suitable. It describes the
departments our partner hospitals run and that we can coordinate in practice. Anything
outside these lines, we will say so at enquiry rather than after you have booked.
01
Oncology — diagnostic work-up & surgery
Imaging review, biopsy, staging and surgical treatment for common solid tumours.
Where chemotherapy or radiotherapy is needed, we tell you at the quoting stage — those
are schedules measured in months, not visits.
Realistic for: diagnosis, staging, surgical treatment
02
Cardiology
Coronary angiography, stent placement, pacemaker implantation, echocardiography and
arrhythmia assessment. The most common reason a screening leads to a same-trip
intervention.
Realistic for: angiography, stenting, device implants
03
Orthopaedics & spine
Joint replacement, arthroscopy and spinal surgery. Imaging and surgical planning are
strong in Chinese tertiary hospitals; rehabilitation afterwards is the weak point, and
we plan for it before you arrive.
Realistic for: joint replacement, spine, arthroscopy
04
Gastroenterology & hepatology
Gastroscopy and colonoscopy with polypectomy, liver assessment, and treatment of
hepatitis B — which is far more prevalent here, and far more heavily treated, than in
most Western countries.
Realistic for: endoscopy, hepatology, GI treatment
05
Neurology & neurosurgery
Stroke assessment, aneurysm and vascular malformation treatment, epilepsy work-up and
brain imaging. High surgical volume in Chinese tertiary centres, which is the part that
matters for outcome in complex cases.
Realistic for: imaging, cerebrovascular, epilepsy work-up
06
Thyroid, breast & general surgery
Nodule and mass assessment, ultrasound-guided biopsy, and surgical removal. Very high
case volumes, short waits, and the results are easy to hand over to your own doctor
afterwards.
Realistic for: nodule work-up, biopsy, surgery
What we are not set up for. Organ transplantation,
paediatric surgery, fertility treatment, rare genetic disease, and anything requiring a
treatment course longer than about six weeks. If your case falls into one of those, we
will tell you on the first reply — not after you have paid for flights.
