Specialist treatment & work-up

When a screening finds something, or you already know what it is.

Two things bring people here. A health check that came back with an abnormal result, and a diagnosis they already have and want a second read on. Both start the same way: we look at what you have, tell you what the hospitals can actually do with it, and quote before you commit.

Where we can help

The directions we are set up for.

This is not a claim that every case in these categories is suitable. It describes the departments our partner hospitals run and that we can coordinate in practice. Anything outside these lines, we will say so at enquiry rather than after you have booked.

01

Oncology — diagnostic work-up & surgery

Imaging review, biopsy, staging and surgical treatment for common solid tumours. Where chemotherapy or radiotherapy is needed, we tell you at the quoting stage — those are schedules measured in months, not visits.

Realistic for: diagnosis, staging, surgical treatment
02

Cardiology

Coronary angiography, stent placement, pacemaker implantation, echocardiography and arrhythmia assessment. The most common reason a screening leads to a same-trip intervention.

Realistic for: angiography, stenting, device implants
03

Orthopaedics & spine

Joint replacement, arthroscopy and spinal surgery. Imaging and surgical planning are strong in Chinese tertiary hospitals; rehabilitation afterwards is the weak point, and we plan for it before you arrive.

Realistic for: joint replacement, spine, arthroscopy
04

Gastroenterology & hepatology

Gastroscopy and colonoscopy with polypectomy, liver assessment, and treatment of hepatitis B — which is far more prevalent here, and far more heavily treated, than in most Western countries.

Realistic for: endoscopy, hepatology, GI treatment
05

Neurology & neurosurgery

Stroke assessment, aneurysm and vascular malformation treatment, epilepsy work-up and brain imaging. High surgical volume in Chinese tertiary centres, which is the part that matters for outcome in complex cases.

Realistic for: imaging, cerebrovascular, epilepsy work-up
06

Thyroid, breast & general surgery

Nodule and mass assessment, ultrasound-guided biopsy, and surgical removal. Very high case volumes, short waits, and the results are easy to hand over to your own doctor afterwards.

Realistic for: nodule work-up, biopsy, surgery

What we are not set up for. Organ transplantation, paediatric surgery, fertility treatment, rare genetic disease, and anything requiring a treatment course longer than about six weeks. If your case falls into one of those, we will tell you on the first reply — not after you have paid for flights.

The route

From an email to a discharge summary.

The first two steps happen before you buy a ticket, and they are free. If the answer at step two is that this is not worth the journey, you have lost nothing but a week of email.

Step 01

Send what you have

Imaging files, pathology report, bloods, a list of your medications. Secure link, not email attachments.

Step 02

Free review

We put it in front of the department and come back within 48 hours with whether they will take the case.

Step 03

Written quote

Department fee, our coordination fee, and the realistic number of days you need to be here.

Step 04

Registration & treatment

Hospital registration on your passport, specialist consultations, admission if required, interpreting throughout.

Step 05

Handover

Discharge summary, imaging and pathology in English, so your own doctor can pick up the follow-up.

Who decides. Not us. The department reviews your records and decides whether to accept the case and what the plan is. Our job is the paperwork, the appointment, the interpreting and the coordination — not the clinical judgement, and we do not pretend otherwise anywhere on this site.

Scope

Where our role stops.

Medical travel goes wrong when the coordinator starts sounding like a doctor. Here is the line we hold.

What we do

  • Collect and translate your records into a form the department can read
  • Secure the appointment and get a written plan and quote back to you
  • Meet you at the airport and register you at the hospital on your passport
  • Interpret in the consultation room and at admission
  • Keep a family contact updated if you are an inpatient
  • Deliver your discharge summary and imaging in English before you fly home

What we do not do

  • Recommend one treatment over another, or advise on whether to have surgery
  • Offer an opinion on your diagnosis, or interpret your scans for you
  • Guarantee an outcome, a duration, or that a case will be accepted
  • Act as your legal or insurance representative
  • Provide nursing or post-operative care outside the hospital
  • Handle payment for medical treatment — that goes directly to the hospital

On second opinions. If what you actually want is a written second opinion from a Chinese specialist rather than treatment, say that at enquiry. It is a different, cheaper and often more useful product — and we would rather sell you that than a flight you did not need.

Enquiry

Describe the case.

Two sentences is enough to start — what was found, and what you have been told so far. We will tell you honestly whether either hospital is the right place for it.

  • Free review, no obligation, no deposit
  • Secure link for records after first contact
  • An honest "no" if we cannot support the case
Received — thank you. A coordinator will reply within 48 hours, and a secure link for your records will follow.
